The combined weight of the completed towing vehicle and the loaded trailer must not exceed the GCWR. In ambient temperatures greater than 100°F (38°C), it is recommended that the maximum GCW be reduced to 11,600 lbs (5,262 kg) for the 3.55 axle or 8,000 lbs (3629 kg) for the 3.73 axle. At these temperatures, vehicle speed should be kept below 60 mph (97 km/h) during highway operation. Extended operation above 4,000 rpm should be avoided. Towing a trailer over 3,500 lbs (1,588 kg) requires a 3.55 axle and a weight carrying class III/IV hitch.
