Controls in detail Locking and unlocking i If the vehicle has previously been locked from the outside with the SmartKey, opening a door from the inside will trigger the alarm. To cancel the alarm, do one of the following: Press button ‹ or Œ on the SmartKey. Insert the SmartKey in the starter switch. Opening the trunk lid The trunk lid lock is located in the rear license plate recess. The trunk lid swings open upwards. Always make sure that there is sufficient overhead clearance. A minimum height clearance of 6 ft. (1.85 m) is required to open the trunk lid. i The vehicle must be unlocked. The trunk can also be opened from the inside in an emergency, see "Trunk lid emergency release" ( page 96). Press the outer left-hand side of trunk lid button 1. 95
