Practical hints Replacing bulbs Replacing bulbs for front lamps G Warning! Do not remove the cover for the Bi-Xenon headlamp. Because of high voltage in Xenon lamps, it is dangerous to replace the bulb or repair the lamp and its components. We recommend that you have such work done by a qualified technician. Before you start to replace a bulb for a front lamp, do the following first: X Switch off the ignition. X X 5 Bulb socket for corner-illuminating lamp bulb High-beam and high-beam flasher bulb X X X Turn housing cover 1 counterclockwise and remove it. Pull out bulb socket 2. Turn bulb socket 3 with the bulb counterclockwise and remove it. Pull the bulb out of bulb socket 3. Press the new bulb gently into bulb socket 3. Insert bulb socket 3 into the guide in the headlamp. Turn bulb socket 3 clockwise until it engages. Driver's side headlamp: Cable outlet 4 of bulb socket 3 must point towards the lower right. Passenger side headlamp: Cable outlet 4 of bulb socket 3 must point towards the lower left. Place bulb socket 2 back into the housing. Align housing cover 1 and turn it clockwise until it engages. Z 1 Housing cover for high-beam headlamp, Turn the exterior lamp switch to position M.
