To replace the wheel cover: 1. 2. Reinstall the pedestal on the wheel before reinstalling the wheelcover. One of the windows on the wheelcover is identified with a valve stem logo on the inside of the cover. Align this valve hole on the wheelcover with the valve stem on the wheel. Reinstall the cover by pressing with the palm of your hand. Do not use excessive force. Do not use a hammer. Attach the bolt to the pedestal through the center hole in the cover with the lug wrench. Align the legs of the center ornament with the slots on the wheel cover. Reinstall the ornament by pressing with the palm of your hand. Do not use excessive force. Do not use a hammer. 3. 4. Anti-Theft Wheel Lug Nuts (If equipped) If your vehicle has this feature, one of the lug nuts on each wheel lock must be removed and replaced with a special key. The key and registration card are attached to the lug wrench and stored with the spare tire. If you lose the key, send the registration card to the manufacturer (not to the dealer) to get a replacement key. NOTE: If entire lug wrench/lug nut key assembly is lost, see your nearest Ford or Lincoln-Mercury dealer who has access to a master set of keys. DO NOT USE THE KEY WITH AN IMPACT WRENCH. 230
