Cooling System MAINTENANCE Coolant High Temperature Indicator Light The high temperature indicator light is controlled by a switch in the ECU. If the engine coolant reaches a certain temperature, the switch completes a circuit that turns the light on. If you must drive your machine after the high temperature indicator light has come on, drive slowly and stop frequently to allow the engine to cool down. See your dealer. n Coolant Level The engine coolant level is controlled by the recovery system. The recovery system components are: S Coolant bottle or overflow tank S Engine filler neck S Pressure cap S Connecting hoses Always maintain the coolant level at the "FULL COLD" mark on the coolant bottle (when engine is cold) to prevent overheating and serious engine damage. CAUTION Operating the snowmobile with insufficient coolant will result in overheating and serious engine damage. Always maintain the coolant level as recommended. Flushing the Cooling System To ensure that the coolant maintains its ability to protect the engine, the system should be completely drained every two years and a fresh mixture of antifreeze and distilled water should be added. This service must be done when the engine is cold. Ask your Polaris dealer to check the coolant when he performs the fall tune-up on your snowmobile. 85

Cooling System
Coolant High Temperature Indicator Light
The high temperature indicator light is controlled by a switch in the
ECU. If the engine coolant reaches a certain temperature, the switch
completes a circuit that turns the light on. If you must drive your
machine after the high temperature indicator light has come on, drive
slowly and stop frequently to allow the engine to cool down. See your

Coolant Level
The engine coolant level is controlled by the recovery system. The

Always maintain the coolant level at the “FULL COLD” mark on the
coolant bottle (when engine is cold) to prevent overheating and serious
engine damage.

Operating the snowmobile with insufficient coolant will result in
overheating and serious engine damage. Always maintain the
coolant level as recommended.
Flushing the Cooling System
To ensure that the coolant maintains its ability to protect the engine,
the system should be completely drained every two years and a fresh
mixture of antifreeze and distilled water should be added. This service
must be done when the engine is cold. Ask your Polaris dealer to
check the coolant when he performs the fall tune-up on your
snowmobile.
