MAINTENANCE Tires Operating your vehicle with worn tires, improperly inflated tires, non-standard tires or improperly installed tires will affect vehicle handling and could cause an accident resulting in serious injury or death. Always follow all tire maintenance procedures as outlined in this manual and on the labels on the vehicle. Always use original equipment size and type when replacing tires. Refer to the specifications section beginning on page 120 for recommended tire type, size and pressure. Tire Tread Depth Always replace tires when tread depth is worn to 1/8" (3 mm) or less. 1/8" (3 mm) Front Wheel Hub Tightening Front wheel bearing tightness and spindle nut retention are critical component operations. All service must be performed by your authorized Polaris dealer. Wheel Removal 1. Stop the engine. 2. Place the transmission in PARK. 3. Loosen the wheel nuts slightly. Do not service axle nuts that have a cotter pin installed. See your Polaris dealer. 4. Elevate the side of the vehicle by placing a suitable stand under the footrest frame. 5. Remove the wheel nuts. 6. Remove the wheel. 84

Tires
Operating your vehicle with worn tires, improperly inflated tires, non-standard
tires or improperly installed tires will affect vehicle handling and could cause an
accident resulting in serious injury or death. Always follow all tire maintenance
procedures as outlined in this manual and on the labels on the vehicle. Always
use original equipment size and type when replacing tires.
Refer to the specifications section beginning on page 120 for recom-
mended tire type, size and pressure.
Tire Tread Depth
Always replace tires
when tread depth is
worn to 1/8" (3 mm)
or less.
Front Wheel Hub Tightening
Front wheel bearing tightness and spindle nut retention are critical com-
ponent operations. All service must be performed by your authorized
Polaris dealer.
Wheel Removal
1.
Stop the engine.
2.
Place the transmission in PARK.
3.
Loosen the wheel nuts slightly.
Do not service axle nuts that have a cotter pin installed. See your Polaris dealer.
4.
Elevate the side of the vehicle by placing a suitable stand under the
footrest frame.
5.
Remove the wheel nuts.
6.
Remove the wheel.
