Maintenance and service 2. Look at the horizontal beam angle gauge. The center mark (the red line on the inner scale) should not deviate from red line on the outer case by more than two segments on either side of the gauge. If the beam angle gauge deviates from the acceptable range, take the vehicle to your SUBARU dealer for adjustment of the headlight aim. Replacing bulbs J Headlight CAUTION Halogen headlight bulbs become very hot while in use. If you touch the bulb surface with bare hands or greasy gloves, finger prints or grease on the bulb surface develop into hot spots, causing the bulb to break. If there are finger prints or grease on the bulb surface, wipe them away with a soft cloth moistened with alcohol. Rubber cover Retainer spring Electrical connector OM-H0243 OM-H0261 1. Disconnect the electrical connector, then remove the rubber cover. 2. Remove the retainer spring. 3. Replace the bulb, then set the retainer spring securely. 4.
