EBU12951 Shifting This model has a 5-speed forward and 1-speed reverse transmission with centrifugal automatic clutch. The transmission allows you to control the amount of power you have available at a given speed or for starting, accelerating, climbing hills, etc. To shift into neutral, return the throttle lever to the closed position and repeatedly depress the shift pedal until it stops. To shift into reverse, first shift into neutral, and then turn the reverse knob as explained on page 6-4. Depress the shift pedal, and then release the reverse knob. 1. Shift pedal R. Reverse position N. Neutral position CAUTION: _ Do not coast for long periods with the engine off, and do not tow the ATV a long distance. Even in the neutral position, the transmission is only properly lubricated when the engine is running. Inadequate lubrication may cause damage. _ 6-5
