PERIODIC MAINTENANCE AND MINOR REPAIR EAU22231 EWA10670 Adjusting the brake pedal position and free play XVS65W WARNING It is advisable to have a Yamaha dealer make these adjustments. NOTE: The brake pedal position should be adjusted before adjusting the brake pedal free play. Brake pedal position The brake pedal should be positioned approximately XVS65ATW 108.0 mm (4.25 in) XVS65ATWC 108.0 mm (4.25 in) XVS65AW 108.0 mm (4.25 in) XVS65AWC 108.0 mm (4.25 in) XVS65W 82.0 mm (3.23 in) XVS65WC 82.0 mm (3.23 in) above the top of the footrest as shown. Periodically check the brake pedal position and, if necessary, adjust it as follows. 1. Loosen the locknut at the brake pedal. 2. To raise the brake pedal, turn the adjusting bolt in direction (a). Brake pedal free play The brake pedal free play should measure 20.0-30.0 mm (0.79-1.18 in) at the brake pedal end.
