Setting up Configuration Environment Connecting the Router to a Console Terminal To set up the local configuration environment, the RJ-45 connector of the console cable needs to be connected to the console port on the router, and the DB-25 or DB-9 connector to the serial interface of a PC. Setting the Parameters for Console Terminal Opening the Console Terminal and Setting Up a New Connection If the configuration is performed through a PC, the terminal emulator (such as Terminal of Windows 3.1 and HyperTerminal of Windows95/98/NT) should be run on the PC to set up a new connection.
