RESTORING A BRIDGE TO FACTORY DEFAULTS You can restore bridge settings to the defaults that were set at the factory as follows: 1 Under Tools, click Restore Factory Defaults. 2 Click Restore. Manual Restore (indoor bridge only)-To restore the settings manually, insert a pointed object (such as the end of a straightened paper clip) into the reset hole on the front near the RJ-45 connector and hold for approximately 15 seconds. If the bridge was using an IP address setting other than the default, restoring the factory defaults will change the IP address. If you want to continue configuring the bridge, do the following: 1 Close your browser. 2 Return to the 3Com Wireless Infrastructure Device Manager and click Refresh. 3 Select the device and click Configure to start a new configuration session. UPGRADING THE SYSTEM You can download firmware and configuration management system upgrades from the 3Com Web site and install those upgrades on the bridge. The upgrade procedure requires a Trivial File Transfer Protocol (TFTP) server. The bridge acts as a TFTP client to receive the download. To locate an upgrade file and download it to your computer: 1 Log on to the 3Com Web site at http://www.3com.com. 2 Navigate to the product support page for the 3Com Wireless LAN Outdoor Bridge Solution to access the download files and instructions. 3 Follow the instructions to download the file into a directory on your computer. 4 Copy or move the file to the TFTP server upload/download directory. 34
