Checking Array Status Figure 36. 3DM Home Display The Details display (see Figure 37) gives ATA RAID controller version and status information in text format, which is helpful when contacting 3ware Customer Support with questions or for troubleshooting. Its text format allows you to select the text in the window with your mouse and use the system clipboard to cut and paste it into e-mail or documentation. The Details display (see Figure 37) gives the following detailed information on the 3ware disk I/O subsystem: ■ The hostname is displayed. This is the name that is typed into the web browser, along with the specified port, to bring up 3ware 3DM (e.g. http:/ /:1080) ■ The number of 3ware ATA RAID controllers in the system is also displayed, as well as the current version of the operating system including service level and any service packs that are installed. ■ Detailed information for each controller is displayed, such as its model number, serial number, firmware and BIOS versions, unit count (total number of disk arrays on the controller), and version numbers of the chips on the 3ware card. ■ Information is displayed on each unit (a unit is a disk array or JBOD). The array status, capacity, write cache status, RAID type, and subunits in the array are displayed. ■ Information is displayed on each subunit (a subunit is a drive used in a particular array). The individual drive status for each drive is displayed. www.3ware.com 85

number of disk arrays on the controller), and version numbers of the chips
on the 3ware card.
Information is displayed on each unit (a unit is a disk array or JBOD). The
array status, capacity, write cache status, RAID type, and subunits in the
array are displayed.
Information is displayed on each subunit (a subunit is a drive used in a
particular array). The individual drive status for each drive is displayed.
