If you select [IDE] mode, the options "SATAII 1,2,3,4 Configuration" and "SATAII 5,6 Configuration" will appear. If you select [RAID] or [AHCI] mode, the options "Hot Plug" and "Link Power Management" will appear. AHCI (Advanced Host Controller Interface) supports NCQ and other new features that will improve SATA disk performance but IDE mode does not have these advantages. Marvell SATA3 Operation Mode Use this to select Marvell SATA3 Operation Mode. Configuration options: [IDE] and [AHCI]. The default value is [IDE]. eSATA Compatible Mode Use this to select eSATA Compatible Mode. Configuration options: [Enabled] and [Auto]. The default value is [Auto]. 64

SATAII Operation Mode
Use this to select SATAII Operation Mode. Configuration options: [IDE],
[RAID], [AHCI] and [Disabled]. The default value is [IDE].
If you select [IDE] mode, the options “SATAII 1,2,3,4 Configuration” and
“SATAII 5,6 Configuration” will appear.
If you select [RAID] or [AHCI] mode, the options “Hot Plug” and “Link Power
Management” will appear.
AHCI (Advanced Host Controller Interface) supports NCQ and other
new features that will improve SATA disk performance but IDE
mode does not have these advantages.
Marvell SATA3 Operation Mode
Use this to select Marvell SATA3 Operation Mode. Configuration options:
[IDE] and [AHCI]. The default value is [IDE].
eSATA Compatible Mode
Use this to select eSATA Compatible Mode. Configuration options: [Enabled]
and [Auto]. The default value is [Auto].
