47 Removing and installing the CPU The mainboard supports Intel® Pentium® 4 processor running at 533 MHz to 3.06 GHz or Intel® Celeron processor running at 400 MHz to 2.2 GHz and future generations of Celeron CPUs. Caution! Always observe the ESD precautions when installing or removing a system component. Refer to the "Installation precautions" on page 33. Removing the CPU Follow these steps to remove a CPU: 1 Remove the system cover. See page 35 for more detailed instructions. 2 Remove the air baffle by lifting it up (1) then sliding it to the direction shown below (2). 3 Locate the CPU socket on the mainboard. Warning! The heatsink may feel hot after long period of usage. It is recommended to allow a few minutes of cooling period before attempting the upgrade.
