Integrated Peripherals The following table describes each Integrated Peripherals parameter. Settings in boldface are the default and suggested settings. Parameter On-Chip Primary IDE On-Chip Secondary IDE IDE Primary Master PIO IDE Primary Slave PIO IDE Secondary Master PIO IDE Secondary Slave PIO Description Options These parameters let you enable or disable the IDE devices connected to the primary and secondary IDE connectors. Enabled Disabled Setting these items to Auto activates the HDD speed auto-detect function. The PIO mode specifies the data transfer rate of the HDD. For example, mode 0 data transfer rate is 3.3 MB/s, mode 1 is 5.2 MB/s, mode 2 is 8.3 MB/s, mode 3 is 11.1 MB/s and mode 4 is 16.6 MB/s. If your hard disk performance becomes unstable, you may manually try the slower mode.
