Adaptec Storage Management Software User's Guide Controller-Specific -a Action (task) control This switch has the following options which allow you to control tasks on the controller: List Build Rebuild Verify Stop Shows tasks for the controller Starts build of logical drive Starts rebuild on logical drive Starts a verify operation Terminates active task on drive Specify drives by the device address. -F Update controller firmware, BIOS, or NVRAM This option updates the controller flash memory (EEPROM). Specify an image file name on the command line. -X Reset NVRAM configuration This option resets the controller NVRAM to the factory default settings. -Z Reset/clear embedded RAID information This option destroys all RAID information pertaining to disk arrays and logical drives for the specified device. Specify logical drives by using the device address. All specified drives become individual, unassigned physical drives after this command is used. ! Caution: There is no procedure to reverse the effect of the -Z operation. This option is a method of last resort for deleting conflicting RAID table information. 4-8

-a Action (task) control
This switch has the following options which allow you to control
tasks on the controller:
Specify drives by the device address.
-F Update controller firmware, BIOS, or NVRAM
This option updates the controller flash memory (EEPROM).
Specify an image file name on the command line.
-X Reset NVRAM configuration
This option resets the controller NVRAM to the factory default
settings.
-Z Reset/clear embedded RAID information
This option destroys all RAID information pertaining to disk
arrays and logical drives for the specified device. Specify logical
drives by using the device address.
All specified drives become individual, unassigned physical drives
after this command is used.
Caution:
There is no procedure to reverse the effect of the -Z
