Troubleshooting guide Specifications English If you encounter a problem, please review the items in the following checklist. This guide will help you isolate the problem if the unit is at fault. Otherwise, make sure the rest of your system is properly connected or consult your authorized ALPINE dealer. Symptom The POWER button does not function. The power is turned on but the unit does not operate. The picture is not clear. No picture on Monitor screen during playback or recording. Unable to record. No Remote Control operation. Remedy • Turn the ignition on. • Check connections and correct any problems. • Check the vehicle's battery voltage. • Moisture condensation. Allow unit to dry for 1 hour or more. • Adjust the tracking with TRACKING/SELECT buttons. • Check the connection between the Monitor and VCR, then connect them properly. • Have the video heads cleaned (with a cleaning tape sold separately) • The safety tab of the tape is removed. Cover the hole with adhesive tape. • Make sure the tape is not at its end. • Set "REC INHIBIT" to "NO" in the MENU screen. • Remove any obstacle between the Remote Control and the VCR. • Replace batteries with new ones. Insert them correctly. • Make sure you are pointing the Remote Control at the remote sensor on the unit. If it is wiped with benzene or paint thinner, etc., it could cause deterioration or pealing of the paint finish, etc., so avoid use of such cleaners. • Please wipe off dirt on the cabinet or operating panel with a soft cloth. When the product becomes dirty use a cloth dampened with a non-abrasive or non-harsh cleaning solution. Wring the cloth out completely, then wipe. Dry the finish by wiping with a dry cloth. • Do not allow volatile substances, such as insecticides, on the cabinet. Also, do not leave products made of rubber or vinyl, etc. in contact with this unit for long periods of time. Doing so could cause damage to the products finish. Specifications
If you encounter a problem, please review the items in the following checklist. This guide will help you
isolate the problem if the unit is at fault. Otherwise, make sure the rest of your system is properly
connected or consult your authorized ALPINE dealer.
Symptom
Remedy
The POWER button does not function.
The power is turned on but the unit does not
operate.
The picture is not clear.
No picture on Monitor screen during playback
or recording.
Unable to record.
No Remote Control operation.
• Turn the ignition on.
• Check connections and correct any problems.
• Check the vehicle’s battery voltage.
• Moisture condensation. Allow unit to dry for 1
hour or more.
Adjust the tracking with
TRACKING/SELECT
buttons.
• Check the connection between the Monitor and
VCR, then connect them properly.
• Have the video heads cleaned (with a cleaning
tape sold separately)
• The safety tab of the tape is removed. Cover

• Make sure the tape is not at its end.
• Set “REC INHIBIT” to “NO” in the MENU
screen.
