What are the basics? The Macintosh desktop is your starting place. Apple menu Use this to select often-used applications and tools. To see the menu, click the apple () in the menu bar. Application menu Click here to switch between open applications. Disc This appears when a CD or DVD is in the disc drive. Double-click the icon to see what's on the disc. Drag the disc's icon to the Trash to eject it.
