Interval Task Action Each Use Check Safety Interlock System WARNING: Safety interlock system failure and improper operation of unit can result in death or serious injury. Test this system each time the unit is operated. If this system does not function as described, do not operate until repairs are made (see Safety Interlock System on page 16). All Controls, Switches Inspect regularly and repair when necessary. All Fasteners, Inspect regularly and tighten when necessary. hardware Hoses, fan belt, wiring Inspect regularly and repair when necessary. Engine Oil Level Check regularly and replenish when necessary (see Engine Oil Level on page 27). Hydraulic Oil Check regularly and replenish when necessary (see Hydraulic Level System Maintenance on page 29). Air Screens Clean off debris regularly. Air Cleaner Unloader Valve Clean regularly. Air Cleaner Elements Inspect regularly and clean or replace when necessary. Fuel Tank Levels Check regularly and replenish when necessary. Fuel Filter Inspect regularly and replace when necessary. Steering Lever Adjustment Balance Check regularly and adjust when necessary. Check Engage parking brake and engage transmission bypass lever (see Parking Brake Moving the Unit with the Engine Off on page 23). Push unit. If unit rolls, contact your Ariens Dealer. Clean Unit Clean engine, battery, seat, mower deck, etc. of all dirt and debris. Do not use solvents, high-pressure sprayer, hard cleaners or abrasives. NOTE: Protect painted surfaces with automotive type wax. Check Tire See SPECIFICATIONS on page 45 for correct tire pressure. Pressure and Conditions Wheel Bolt Check regularly and tighten when necessary. Torque Steering Free- Check regularly and repair when necessary. Play Grass Build Remove after each use. Up Inspect Check mower blades for wear. Sharpen or replace as needed (see Mower Blades Blade Maintenance on page 37). Follow Engine Perform scheduled engine maintenance. Refer to Engine Manual Manual for detailed instructions. Maintenance NOTE: To drain the oil, use the oil drain petcock supplied with unit, Schedule not the drain plug that is shown in the Engine Manual. GB - 25
