7. Front panel audio connector (10-1 pin AAFP) This connector is for a chassis-mounted front panel audio I/O module that supports either HD Audio or legacy AC`97 audio standard. Connect one end of the front panel audio I/O module cable to this connector. If you want to connect an AC'97 front panel audio module to this connector, set the item to [AC97]. By default, this connector is set to [HD Audio]. See section 2.6.8 Onboard Devices Configuration for details. 8. M.2 socket 3 This socket allows you to install an M.2 (NGFF) SSD module. H170M-E D3 M.2(SOCKET3) H170M-E D3 M.2(SOCKET3) • This socket supports M Key and 2242/2260/2280 storage devices. • When using Intel® Desktop Responsiveness technologies with PCIe M.2 device, ensure to set up the Windows® UEFI operating system under RAID mode.
