Recovering the BIOS from a floppy disk To recover the BIOS from a floppy disk: 1. Remove any CD from the optical drive, then turn on the system. 2. Insert the floppy disk with the original or updated BIOS file to the floppy disk drive. 3. BIOS ROM checksum error Detecting IDE ATAPI device... When no CD is found, the utility automatically checks the floppy drive for the original or updated BIOS file.
