Serial ATA hard disk drive connection Connector Color Setting Use SATA1/SATA2 Red Master Boot disk SATA3/SATA4 Black Slave Data disk 5 . Serial ATA RAID connectors (7-pin SATA_RAID1, SATA_RAID2, SATA_RAID3, SATA_RAID4) These connectors are for Serial ATA signal cables. These connectors support up to four Serial ATA hard disk drives that you can configure as a disk array through the onboard SATA RAID controller. Refer to Chapter 5 for details on how to set up Serial ATA RAID configurations. These connectors are set to R A I D M o d e by default. If you want to connect Serial ATA boot/data hard disk drives to these connectors, set the S i l i c o n I m a g e C o n t r o l l e r item in the BIOS to [SATA Mode]. See section "4.4.6 Onboard Devices Configuration" for details.
