The AHCI allows the onboard storage driver to enable advanced Serial ATA features that increases storage performance on random workloads by allowing the drive to internally optimize the order of commands. If you want the Serial ATA hard disk drives to use the Advanced Host Controller Interface (AHCI), set this item to [AHCI]. Onboard SATA RAID ROM [Disabled] Allows you to enable or disable the onboard SATA RAID boot ROM. Configuration options: [Disabled] [Enabled] The O n b o a r d S A T A R A I D R O M item appears only when you set the C o n f i g u r e S A T A A s item to [RAID]. Legacy IDE Channels [SATA Pri, PATA Sec] Allows you to set Serial ATA, Parallel ATA, or both, to legacy mode. Configuration options: • [SATA Only] - SATA1, SATA2, SATA3, and SATA4 ports are available • [PATA Pri, SATA Sec] - PATA, SATA2, and SATA4 ports are available • [SATA Pri, PATA Sec] - SATA1, SATA3, and PATA ports are available • [PATA Only] - Only PATA ports are available The L e g a c y I D E C h a n n e l s option appears only when you set the A T A/ IDE Configuration item to [Compatible] mode.
