SN2408 Energy-Efficient 80-Watt Mixer Amplifier with Dual 70/100 V and 4 ohms Outputs for Distributed Music, Paging and AV Applications Product Overview Combining superior performance and extraordinary flexibility with unprecedented value and style, the EUROCOM SN2408 mixer-amplifier is an innovative yet practical solution for distributed sound in mediumcomplexity environments. Incorporating BEHRINGER's exclusive DualDrive technology, the SN2408 is powered by two independent mono amplifiers, one with a high impedance output that may be set to either 70 or 100 V, and the other with a standard low-impedance output. This uniquely versatile configuration addresses the needs of hybrid distributed/low-impedance systems, allowing easy installation and configuration of multi-zone setups in bars, recreation facilities, conference rooms, boardrooms, hotels, and other venues. With a sleek, compact exterior that's at home in the chicest of settings, the SN2408 can be shelf-mounted within convenient reach rather than hidden away in a back room. The clear, intuitive front-panel design, which allows easy operation by non-technical personnel, includes level controls for all inputs as well as high and low EQ settings to optimize the sound for any environment. The frontpanel master volume knob is surrounded by an indicator ring that glows yellow for power on and flashes red at the onset of clipping. Paging functions are automated so that user action is not required to duck background audio during pages. The SN2408 includes three input channels that accept balanced or unbalanced signals via XLR/TRS (1/4-inch) combination jacks or 4-pin Euroblock connectors. Each channel is equipped with a three-position switch to select line, mic, or mic with phantom power (48 V). Two additional input channels, each with a pair of RCA jacks that are summed internally to mono, allow playback from external sources such as CD/MP3 players, cable boxes, and radio/TV tuners. Loudspeakers connect via a 4-pin Euroblock connector wired for both high-Z and low-Z outputs. Two additional 3-pin Euroblock connections, each with an associated level control, include a Tel/Page input for integration with telephone paging systems and a Zone 2 line-level output to feed a supplemental sound reinforcement system. Effects send and receive, used to insert external processing such as dynamics or EQ, is also provided for each of the two amps using line-level RCA jacks. Extensive back-panel control allows the installer to rapidly customize the SN2408 to the needs of a specific installation. Switches are provided to select mains voltage (115 or 240 VAC) and high-Z output (70 or 100 V). A Balance control adjusts the relative levels of the two power amplifiers. Output Assign DIP switches determine which inputs are included in the Zone 2 output and enable/disable external processing inserts for each amp. Mute Assign DIP switches enable/disable mute send and receive signals for the three main inputs plus Tel/Page, and a Mute Depth control adjusts the degree of attenuation. SN2408 operation is both cool and extraordinarily energyefficient thanks to transformerless Class-D amplifiers that utilize switch-mode power supplies. The low-Z amplifier delivers 80 W RMS into 8 Ω and 125 W RMS into 4 Ω, while the high-Z amplifier delivers 80 W RMS at 70 V and 160 W RMS at 100 V. Each amplifier is protected with DC and thermal overload protection, as well as by automatic limiting that prevents overload, clipping, and distortion. With every detail thought through from both the installer and end-user perspective, the SN2408 offers the ideal balance between versatility and ease-of-use, making it a perfect match for commercial sound requirements in retail, hospitality, office, medical, educational, and industrial spaces. 2
