Manually Configuring your Router section 1 Setting WPA/WPA2-PSK (no server) 1. From the "Allowed Client Type" drop-down menu, select "WPA/ WPA2". 2 2. For Authentication, select "Pre-shared Key" for typical home/SOHO use. This setting will have to be identical on the clients that you set 3 up. 3. Enter your Pre-Shared key. This can be from eight to 63 characters 4 and can be letters, numbers, or symbols. This same key must be used on all of the clients that you set up. For example, your PSK might be something like: "Smith family network key". 5 6 7 8 9 10 4. Click "Apply Changes" to finish. You must now set all clients to match these settings. Setting WPA/WPA2 (with radius server) Settings If your network uses a radius server to distribute keys to the clients, use this setting. 1. From the "Allowed Client Type" drop-down menu, select "WPA/ WPA2". 2. For Encryption Technique, select "802.1x" for environment with RADIUS server. This setting will have to be identical on the clients that you set up. 3. Enter the session idle timeout of the radius server into the "Session Idel Timeout" field. 4. Enter the key interval, how often the keys are distributed (in packets), in the "Re-Authentication Period" field. 37
