Your new 22' Series II Direct/Reflecting` speaker system Thank you for purchasing this advanced new speaker system from Bose. A number of proprietary technologies (developed through ongoing research at Bose) and quality construction ensure you years of listening pleasure. The installation and operating principles of Our 2.2 Series II system are significantly ferent from those of conventional speaker stems. This guide contains useful information that will help you obtain the fullest enjoyment of your new speakers. The shipping carton contains two 2.2 speakers. Unpack each speaker carefully, saving the carton and all packaging materials for possible later use. If either speaker appears to be damaged when unpacking, donot operate the damagedunit. Repack both speakers in their original carton and notify your authorized Bose dealer immediately. Choices for speaker 40 placement Your 2.2 system is designed for use in a wide variety of sound environments and placement positions. The basic guidelines below are intended to simplify your choices. Refer to the speaker's grille shape, as indicated in Figure 1, to determine which is your right and which is your left speaker. Each speaker's grille-covered end should face inward, toward the other's. For full, lifelike sound 2.2 speakers provide the best performance when space around the cabinets allows the music to flow freely. Refer to the Figure 1 below for placement in an average-sized room. Place the left and right speakers on the left and right sides of the room, respectively, spacing them 4 to 12 feet (1.2 - 3.6 m) apart. Verticalplacement, so the tweeters face directly up or down, is not recommended.
