For information on replacing the remote control batteries see "Installing the batteries in the remote control" on page 17. Figure 22 Handling a CD Handling CDs Handle discs by their edges to prevent fingerprints and scratches (Figure 22). To remove stains or fingerprints from the surface of a disc, use a soft, lint-free, dry cloth. Wipe in straight movements from the center of the disc to the outside (Figure 23). Do not use any chemical products; they can damage the disc. Do not write on or attach labels to the surface of the disc. To minimize exposure to dust and dirt, replace discs in their cases after use. Store each disc in its case, out of direct sunlight, high temperatures, and humidity. Do not use any solvents, chemicals, or cleaning solutions containing alcohol, ammonia, or abrasives. Do not allow liquids to spill into any openings. Do not use any sprays near the system. Cleaning the speakers Clean the surface of your speakers with a soft, damp cloth. You can use an ammonia-free window cleaner on a soft cloth to maintain the finish. Do not use any sprays near the system. Do not use any solvents, chemicals, or cleaning • solutions containing alcohol, ammonia, or abrasives. Do not allow liquids to spill into any openings. The speaker grille panels require no special care, although you may vacuum them carefully, if necessary. A CAUTION: If liquids get into the product, turn the system off and allow it to air dry. Then turn it on again. If you notice any problems with its functioning, turn it off and contact Bose° customer service. 32
