Using the System Battery protection mode When the SoundTouch™ Portable system is unplugged and unused for several days or one day with a remaining charge of less than 10 percent, it enters battery protection mode to preserve battery power. To reactivate the system, connect it to AC (mains) power. Note: Do not store your system for extended periods when the battery status icon on the display indicates less than 20 percent capacity . When not in use, store the system in a cool place. Do not store the system fully charged for long periods of time. Replacing the battery Rechargeable batteries periodically need replacement. The lifetime of a battery depends on usage and volume settings. You may need to replace the battery if you must recharge the battery more often. For replacement batteries, contact the Bose® organization in your country or region. Visit global.Bose.com for Bose contact information. CAUTION: Only use replacement batteries purchased through Bose Coporation or authorized dealers. Using unauthorized batteries may compromise safety and regulatory requirements and could lead to fire hazards. To replace the battery: 1. Power off and uplug the system from AC (mains) power. 2. Place the system on a soft blanket. 3. Use the 2.5 mm supplied hex wrench to remove the screws on the bottom of the system. 20V SETUP POWER AUX IN SETUP 4. Place the system, display-side down, with button pad facing you. 5. Press both thumbs on the top edge of the rear cover. 6. Push the cover off the system. 18 - English
