Unpack the system TO remove your VS-100- video speaker from the carton, first remove all packing materials. Carefully lift the speaker out and inspect it. If any parts appear damaged, do not attempt to use the speaker. Repack the speaker in its original carton and notify your authorized Bose' dealer immediately. This guide provides basic information onhow to set up and connect the speaker for both center and rear channel operation. For testing and operating the speaker, refer to your receiver owners guide. If you prefer to mount the speaker, the UB-5 or WB-10 wall/ceiling mounting brackets are available from Bose. To purchase brackets. contact your local Bose dealer. Or call Bose. toll free, at 1-800-444-BOSE in the USA or Canada. Position the speaker for best performance As a center channel speaker You can place the magnetically shielded VS-100 speaker very close to your video screen without causing interference. (Figure 2, placement 'A"and 'B.") Youmay prefer it directly on top of. above. or below your television. Placing it right next to or even behind the screenmay alsogive you the effect you want. Feel free to experiment. As a rear channel speaker A rear channel speaker performs best when it is positioned behind the viewers or listeners. Youmay choose tolocateit along a rear or side wall (Figure 1). You can position the two speakers, one for the right and one for the left rear channel, as far apart as your room willallow. Youmay prefer tomount theminconspicuously, using wall/ ceiling brackets. Figure 1 4
