Error Message Document Jam DR Mode in Use Drum Error Duplex Disabled Fuser Error Jam Duplex Jam Rear Jam Inside Jam MP Tray Jam Tray 1 Jam Tray 2 No Paper No Response/Busy No Toner No Tray Cause Action The document was not inserted or fed properly, or the document scanned from the ADF was too long. See Document jams on page 145 or Using the automatic document feeder (ADF) on page 20. The machine is set to Distinctive Ring mode. You cannot change the Receive Mode from Manual to another mode. Set Distinctive Ring to Off. (See Turning off distinctive ring on page 57.) The corona wire on the drum unit Clean the corona wire on the drum unit. (See needs to be cleaned. Cleaning the corona wire on page 156.) The drum unit has reached the end of its life. Replace the drum unit. (See Replacing the drum unit on page 163.) The duplex tray is not installed properly. Remove the duplex tray and install it again. The temperature of fuser unit does not rise at a specified temperature within specified time. The fuser unit is too hot. Turn the power switch off, wait a few seconds, and then turn it on again. Leave the machine for 15 minutes with the power on. The machine can be turned off for approximately 60 hours without losing faxes stored in the memory. (See Transferring your faxes or Fax Journal report on page 144.) The paper is jammed in the duplex tray. (See Paper jams on page 147.) The paper is jammed in the back (See Paper jams on page 147.) of the machine. Do one of the following: Refill the paper in the paper tray or MP tray. Remove the paper and load it again. Verify the number and try again. Re-install the toner cartridge or the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly. Close the paper tray properly. 140
