Adjusting the LCD If nothing appears in the LCD when the machine is turned on, the brightness of the LCD is either too light or too dark. In such a case, perform the following operation. Turn off the machine. a ■ If the machine locks up, for example, because the thread is tangled The machine beeps for four seconds and the machine automatically stops. Be sure to check for the cause of the error, and correct it before continuing to embroider. ■ Canceling the operation beep When the machine is purchased, it is set to beep each time an operation panel key is pressed. This setting can be changed so that the machine does not beep. Turn on the machine. a Turn on the machine while pressing any of the b operation panel keys except (Help key). 3 Press c or . X The LCD comes on. Press b panel. (Setting key) in the operation Turn off the machine, then turn it on again. d X The setting screen appears. Press c (Next page key) twice. Press OFF for the buzzer. d Operation beep Each time a key is pressed you will hear one beep. If an incorrect operation is performed you will hear two or four beeps. ■ If a key is pressed (correct operation) One beep sounds. ■ If an incorrect operation is performed Two or four beeps sound. X The screen for changing the beep setting appears. Press e (Back key). X The initial screen appears again. Troubleshooting 85
