Free Motion Quilting Foot, Seam Guide, Pulling Up the Bobbin Thread

Free Motion Quilting Foot Reduce the foot pressure (page 9) and turn the feed dog adjustment knob (page 10) on the machine lowering the feed dog for free motion quilting. Note • If the foot is frequently used, be sure to apply a small amount of oil about once a month to the area indicated by the arrows. (If too much oil is applied, wipe off the excess with a cloth.) • For best results when using metallic or monofilament threads for free motion quilting, sew with a good quality thread, set upper tension 1-2, and use a metallic needle. • First pull up the bobbin thread, if necessary. Pulling Up the Bobbin Thread While lightly holding the end of the upper thread, slowly turn the handwheel toward you (counterclockwise) by hand to lower and then raise the needle. Carefully pull the upper thread upward to pull out the end of the bobbin thread. Seam Guide 1 Tighten the screw securely with a screwdriver since it might otherwise loosen due to vibration. 1 Installation Turn adjustment screws as arrow images suggest to set the position of the Seam Guide.
