Problem Labels are fed incorrectly (skewed) when printing. Labels are skipped when printing. Ribbon Wrinkles. (Except TJ-4005DN) RTC time is incorrect when rebooting the printer. The left side printout position is incorrect. The printing position of small labels is incorrect. Possible Cause Solution The media guide does not If the label is moving to the right side, touch the edge of the media. move the Front Label Guide to the left. If the label is moving to the left side, move the Front Label Guide to the right. The label size is not specified correctly. The sensor sensitivity is not set correctly. The media sensor is dirty. Check if the label size is set up correctly. Calibrate the Gap Sensor either manually or automatically (See section 7.2 Sensor Settings). Clean the Gap/Black Mark Sensor using a compressed air or vacuum. The print head tension is not set correctly. Use the Print Head Tension Adjustment Knob to adjust the print head tension. (See section 4. Improve Print Quality) The ribbon is installed incorrectly. The media is installed incorrectly. The print density is not set correctly. The media is not fed correctly. Reinstall the ribbon. To install the ribbon roll, see section 3.2 Load the Ribbon. Reinstall the label roll. To install the label roll, see section 3.4 Load the Media. Adjust the print density to improve the print quality. Make sure the Front Label Guide touches the edge of the Media Guide Tips. The coin battery has dislodged.
