4 Reinstall the magazine cap. With the magazine adapter removed, the BPS pump shotgun has a total capacity of five 23⁄4" loads (four in the magazine and one in the chamber), and a total capacity of four 3" or 31⁄2" magnum shells (three in the magazine and one in the chamber). Magazine capacity with the three shot adapter installed is two 23⁄4", 3"or 31⁄2" shells. IF THE BARREL IS STAMPED 23⁄4" ONLY, USE 23⁄4" SHELLS ONLY. DO NOT USE 31⁄2" SHELLS IF THE BARREL IS STAMPED 3" OR 23⁄4" SHELLS ONLY. DOING SO CAN RESULT IN A BUILD-UP OF DANGEROUSLY HIGH PRESSURES THAT MAY DAMAGE YOUR GUN AND POSSIBLY CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY TO YOURSELF OR OTHERS. If, at some future time, you wish to limit your gun to three shots again, unscrew the magazine cap and insert the three shot adapter. Replace the magazine cap. LOADING AT ALL TIMES DURING THE LOADING AND FIRING PROCEDURE, BE SURE YOUR MUZZLE IS POINTING IN A SAFE DIRECTION AND THE "SAFETY" IS IN THE "ON SAFE" POSITION. With the slide fully forward, insert a shell, nose first, through the bottom ejection port into the rear FIGURE 8 of the magazine tube against the magazine spring follower until the rim of the shell slips in front of the cartridge stop (Figure 8). Load additional shells in the same manner until the magazine is full. To load a shell from the magazine to the chamber, depress the slide release and cycle the slide. Another shell can then be loaded into the magazine.
