APPENDIX MAINTENANCE WARNING TEMP. INDICATOR The Warning Temp. indicator blinks red to let you know the internal temperature of the projector exceeds a normal level. If the temperature goes up further, the projector will be turned off automatically and the Ready indicator goes out. (The Warning Temp. indicator continues blinking.) After the cooling-off period, the Ready indicator lights on again and the projector can be turned on by pressing the POWER button on the top control or the remote control unit. When you turn on the projector, the Warning Temp. indicator goes out. TOP CONTROL Warning Temp. Indicator Ready Indicator If the Warning Temp. indicator is still blinking, check the following matters: - The ventilation slots of the projector may be blocked. In such a case, reposition the projector so that the ventilation slots are not obstructed. - The air filters may be clogged with dust particles. Clean them by following the section "AIR FILTER CARE AND CLEANING" on the next page. - If the WARNING TEMP. indicator remains on after performing above checks, the cooling fans or internal circuits may be malfunctioning. Contact the service station. When both of the Warning Temp. and Ready indicators are blinking: When the projector detects an internal problem, it shuts down automatically and both the Warning Temp. and Ready indicators start blinking. In this condition, the projector cannot be turned on even if you press the POWER button on the top control or remote control unit. If this happens, unplug and reconnect the AC power cord, and then turn on the projector again to check the operation. If the projector shuts down again or cannot to be turned on, internal checking and repair is required. Unplug the AC power cord and contact the service station. 46
