Basic Functions 35 Adjusting the Zoom (Angle of View) The zoom can be adjusted to any setting in the 35 to 70 mm range in 35 mm film equivalent terms. Telephoto / Wide Angle Pressing (telephoto) on the zoom lever zooms in, making the subject appear larger in the composition. Pressing (wide angle) on the zoom lever zooms out, making the subject appear smaller in the composition. Digital Zoom When the LCD monitor is on, you can digitally zoom in on a subject with the zoom lever once it is at the maximum optical telephoto setting. Images can be zoomed up to 5 times, which combines the effect of the optical zoom. The displayed zoom setting is the combined effect of the optical and digital zooms. Press on the zoom lever until it reaches the maximum telephoto setting and stops. Press on the zoom lever again to further zoom the image. Press on the zoom lever to zoom back out. • Please note that the image appears grainier, the more the image is digitally zoomed. • The digital zoom is not available when the LCD monitor is set to Off or the shooting mode is set to , or .
