Camera Settings 75 Formatting CF Cards New CF cards must be formatted in accordance with the following procedures before use. • Please note that formatting a CF card erases all its data, including protected images and other types of data. Display the Rec. Menu (§ p. 72) • Use the or button to select . • Use the or button to select [OK]. • To cancel formatting, select [Cancel]. • When the camera is not operating as expected, reformatting the CF card may solve the problem. • When a non-Canon brand CF card is malfunctioning, reformatting it may solve the problem. • CF cards formatted in other cameras, or by computers or peripheral devices, may not operate correctly in the camera. Reformat the card in your camera.
