English General instructions for operation Canton loudspeakers are suitable for operation with amplifiers producing large power output, even if the amplifier power output is greater than the load ratings specified in the technical data for the Canton loudspeakers. Infact, loudspeakers are more endangered by amplifiers with weak output power because the socalled „clipping distortion" they produce when attempting to produce more sound pressure by turning-up the volume and tone controls boosts the mean power especially in the tweeters of the speaker boxes and may destroy the tweeters. Therefore please pay attention not to set volume levels leading to distortion - turn down the volume level directly when necessary. Caution: Floorstanding speakers have a high center of gravity and may become unstable if rocked or improperly positioned. Customer is responsible to prevent any accident. Running-in period To reach its maximum efficiency a loudspeaker needs a running-in period of approx. 15-20 operation hours. In this time the characteristics of all mechanical parts change until they reach the values specified during the development of the loudspeaker, i. e. the suspension of the chassis is affected more mobile and the rendition quality positively. 25
