communications.

Power Port

Kensington Lock

a security slot where you can attach a Kensington lock

to protect the switch from theft.

Step 1 Determine where you want to mount the unmanaged desktop switch. Verify that the surface is smooth, flat, dry, and sturdy.	3
Step 2 Drill two pilot holes into the wall surface. The distance between the screws should be:	3
Step 3 Insert a screw into each hole, leaving a gap between the surface and the base of the screw head of at least 0.1 inches (3 mm).	4
Step 4 Place the unmanaged desktop switch wall-mount slots over the screws and slide the unmanaged desktop switch down until the screws fit snugly into the wall-mount slots.	4
Step 5 Connect the unmanaged desktop switch to the other devices by following the instructions in Connecting Network Devices.	4

Step 1 Connect the Ethernet cable (Cat5 or better recommended) to the Ethernet port of a computer, printer, network storage, or other network device.	5
Step 2 Connect the other end of the network Ethernet cable to one of the numbered unmanaged desktop switch Ethernet ports.	5
Step 3 Repeat Step 1 and Step 2 for each device you want to connect to the unmanaged desktop switch.	5
Step 4 Connect the power adapter to the switch and to a power source, and move the power switch to the on position.	5
