Congratulations on your purchase of the Clifford SENSE & TELIP, voice-synthesis car alarm accessory package. Sense & Tell Features V Outerperimeter protection with voice warning: Proximity Sensor detects when anyone lingers outside your vehicle and activates a digital voice synthesizer that verbally warns any potential vandal or thief before he even touches your vehicle. If the thief stays near your car, the system will give a final verbal warning. If the warning is not heeded, Sense & Tell will activate the alarm. V Tamper-proof innerperimeter radar protection:Sense & Tell's accu-radar protects your vehicle's interior space even if the windows are open. If someone reaches inside your vehicle, Sense & Tell will bypass the verbal warnings and immediately sound the alarm. V Verbal confirmation of arming and disarming: Whenever you arm or disarm your alarm with its remote control, Sense & Tell verbally confirms in English, "ARMED" or "DISARMED." V Remote controlled voice enable/disable: Whenever you wish, you may enable and disable the warning announcements as well as change the verbal "ARMED" and' ISARMED" confirmations to chirps. All it takes is a press of a button on your Clifford remote control. V Distinct intrusion alert: If your alarm was activated while you were away, Sense & Tell will alert you from a distance with a door-bell-like chime. What's more, if your system has the optional interior speaker, Sense & Tell will notify you in English as soon as you enter your vehicle of the specific trigger or sensor* that was activated by a thief or potential vandal while you were away. V Open circuit alert: If either the trunk or hood is open when you remotely arm your alarm, Sense & Tell will alert you with a door-bell-like chime. V Verbal self-diagnostics: Just add an optional interior speaker to most Clifford systems* and Sense & Tell will notify you in English if, at any time, a trigger or sensor malfunctions. In fact, it will even describe the problem. V Programmable six-sound siren: Loudly emulates six different alarm sound patterns. Your installer can easily select any sound pattern(s) of your choice. V Two independent sound level - volume controls: Separate installer-adjustable volume controls for verbal diagnostics and warning messages. * A Clifford vehicle security system with the Smart Autorestingaliagnostics feature is required. Arming When you arm your car alarm with its remote control, Sense & Tell will 'tounce "ARMED" instead of providing siren chirp confirmations. • Disarming When you disarm your car alarm with its remote control, Sense & Tell will announce "DISARMED" instead of a chirp confirmation. • FullPerimeter Protection Sense & Tell will loudly warn off any thief or potential vandal - before he can even touch your vehicle. Just as soon as anyone stands too close to the vehicle, a penetrating warning will sound: "ALARM WILL SOUND IF YOU DON'T BACK AWAY!" If the person continues to linger near your vehicle, Sense & Tell will issue a second warning: "LAST WARNING! ALARM WILL SOUND IF YOU DON'T BACK AWAY!" If, within the next 20 seconds, the potential vandal or thief has not moved away, the alarm will sound. • How to Enable/Disable the Voice Acknowledgments and Warnings If your vehicle security system has a "chirp muting/silencing" feature, you may use it to silence the "ARMED" and "DISARMED" announcements. The Sense & Tell warning messages will not be effected. If you wish to change the "ARMED" and "DISARMED" acknowledgments from voice to chirps and also turn off the Full Perimeter Protection features (see above), you may do so either with a button on your car alarm remote control or via an interior push-button switch (check with your installer). Sense & Tell will issue a single door-bell-like chime when you turn off the exterior voice acknowledgements. Repeating the procedure restores Sense & Tell to normal operation (which is confirmed with two chimes). • Immediate Alarm Sounding With Sense & Tell, your vehicle is fully protected even if all the vehicle's windows were left open. As soon as a thief reaches inside the vehicle, the alarm will sound without any further verbal warning. • What the Bell-Like Chime Means aW al Your Alarm If the door-bell-like chime sounds immediately after you arm the alarm with its remote control, Sense & Tell is warning you that the hoed or trunk is open. To correct the problem, simply disarm the alarm with the remote control, close the hood or trunk, and re-arm. Similarly, it any of the security system's sensors is active at the time of remote arming, the chime will sound 5 seconds after the "ARMED" acknowledgment. If this occurs, take your vehicle to the nearest Authorized Clifford Dealer for a sensor adjustment.
