Using the OSD 4-9 Version Screen You can display the version number of the switch firmware as well as information about any auxiliary devices connected to the switch to facilitate system troubleshooting and support. The Version screen also displays specific device information for the currently selected computer. Keyboard information includes enabled/disabled, typematic rate, LED settings, port mode, and keyboard type. Mouse information includes enabled/disabled, sample rate, resolution, and mouse type. Figure 4-4. Version screen Reset Command The switch unit stores mouse and keyboard connection and rate data and uses this information to emulate the physical mouse and keyboard. If communication between the switch and mouse and keyboard fails, the selected server may not function. The Reset command takes the mouse and keyboard information that was saved in Snapshot and sends it to the server to reestablish connection with the mouse and keyboard. Resetting the mouse and keyboard attempts to restore the correct settings for the selected computer. Because the switch emulates the physical mouse and keyboard, it allows a computer without an attached keyboard or mouse to operate as though there were a physical device attached to it. To reset the mouse and keyboard values, click Reset. NOTE: If this does not correct the problem, press the Reset button on the back panel of the switch.
