Modem module NOTE: The modem module spare part kit does not include a modem module cable. The modem module cable is included with the system board frame, spare part number 480894-001. Description Modem module Spare part number 441074-001 Before removing the modem module, follow these steps: 1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 29). 5. Remove the following components: a. Optical drive (see Optical drive on page 33) b. Keyboard (see Keyboard on page 35) c. Switch cover (see Switch cover on page 43) d. Display assembly (see Display assembly on page 45) e. Top cover (see Top cover on page 49) Remove the modem module: 1. Remove the two Phillips PM2.5×4.0 screws (1) that secure the modem module to the system board. 2. Lift the modem module (2) straight up to disconnect it from the system board Component replacement procedures 51

Before removing the modem module, follow these steps:
