Checkthe oil with the enginestoppedand level. 2. Removethe oil fill dipstickand wipeit clean. 3. Insertand tightenthe oil fill dipstick.Removeit to checkthe oil level.See Figure5. 4. If the oil levelis near or belowthe lowerlimit mark on the dipstick, removethe oil fill dipstick,and fill with the recommendedoil to the upper limitmark (J). Do notoverfill. 5. Reinstallthe oil fill dipstick. Gasoline NOTE:Fuelcandamagepaintand sometypesof plastic.Be careful notto spill fuelwhenfilling yourfueltank. Neverusestale or contaminatedgasolineor oil/gasolinemixture. Avoidgettingdirt or waterin the fueltank. 1. Removethe fuel tank cap. 2. Fillthe fuel tankwith fuel. To allowforexpansionof the fuel, do notfill abovethe bottomof the fuel tank neck.Do notoverfill. Wipe up spilledfuel beforestartingtheengine. 3. Installthe fuel tank capand tighten it until it clicks. 4. Movelawnmowerat least 10feet awayfromthe fuel container/ sourceand site beforestartin{ ine. Do notuse unapprovedgasolines,such as E85.Do not mixoil in gasolineor modifyengineto run on alternatefuels.This will damage theenginecomponentsand void the engine warranty. Fuelmustmeet these requirements: • Clean,fresh,unleadedgasoline. Be sureno one otherthan theoperatoris standingnearthe lawn mowerwhilestartingengineor operatingmower.Neverrun engine indoorsor in enclosed,poorlyventilatedareas. Engineexhaust containscarbonmonoxide,an odorlessand deadlygas. Keep hands, feet, hairand looseclothingawayfrom any movingpartson engine and lawn mower. 10
