LUBRICATION Lubricatethe pivot pointson the controlhandleand the extension springat the end of thecontrol cablewith a lightoil onceeveryseason and beforethe snow throweris putinto storageatthe end of the season. ADJUSTMENTS Shave Plate Tocheckthe adjustmentof theshaveplate, placethe machineon a levelsurface.The wheels,shaveplateand auger paddlesshouldall contactthe levelsurface.Notethat if the shaveplateis adjustedtoo high,snow mayblowunder theauger housing.If the shaveplatewears outexcessively,or the snowthrowerdoes notself-propel,the shave platemay be too lowand needsto be adjusted. 4. Tip the snowthrowerback to theoperatingpositionand pull the starterhandlea few timesto see if it is difficultto pull. 5. If the starteris difficultto pull,removethe spark plugand pull the handle severaltimesto ensurethat anyoil trappedin the headis removed. Oil maycome out of the sparkplug hole whenit is removedand the starterhandle is pulled. 6. Inspectthe spark plug.If itiswet, cleanoff any oil before re-installing. NOTE:On newsnowthrowersor machineswith a newshaveplate installed,theauger paddlesmay be slightlyoff theground. Toadjustthe shaveplateproceedas follows: 1. Runthe snowthroweruntilthe fuel tank is empty. 2. Pull the startercord until resistanceisfelt. Thentip the snow throwerbackuntil it restson the handles. 15

Cleaning
