UNPACKING INSTRUCTIONS 1. Place the box on a large, sturdy, flat surface. 2. Remove the instruction book and any other literature. 3. Lift the power base from the box and remove the polybag. 4. Remove the upper pulp molded insert. 5. Lift the kettle from the box and remove the polybag. We suggest you save all packing materials in the event that future shipping of the machine is needed. Keep all plastic bags away from children. INTRODUCTION Your new Cuisinart® ViewPro™ 1.7 L Cordless Electric Kettle features the latest technology to make boiling water quicker and easier than ever. This kettle is exceptionally simple to operate, but as with every new product, we suggest you read the following information carefully to familiarize yourself with the kettle's use and care. 2. 1. 4. 3. 6. 7. 5. 8. 9. BEFORE USING FOR THE FIRST TIME Before using your Cuisinart® ViewPro™ 1.7 L Cordless Electric Kettle for the first time, we recommend RINSING THE KETTLE WITH THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF FRESH WATER IT ALLOWS. BOIL FRESH WATER INSIDE THE KETTLE TWO TO THREE TIMES AND DISCARD THE BOILED WATER BEFORE NORMAL USE. OPERATION 1. Put the appliance on a heat-resistant flat surface. 2. Lift the lid lever upward to open the lid. 3. Fill the kettle with the desired quantity of cold water between the Min. and Max. levels. 4. The kettle is equipped with a borosilicate glass body. It is important to avoid thermal shocks. Do not use iced water, especially if your glass kettle is still warm. 5. Close the lid until it locks. 6. Ensure the cable has been connected and the ON/OFF switch is at the OFF position. 7. Press the ON/OFF switch to the ON position. The power indicator will then be illuminated. 4
