8. Water temperature will continue to rise until boiling occurs. The switch will then automatically go into the OFF position. 9. If the water has cooled and you need boiling water again, simply switch the kettle on. HELPFUL HINTS • Always use fresh water in the kettle. • If the kettle is accidentally switched on without a sufficient amount of water, a boil-dry safety mechanism will automatically switch the kettle off. • The lid should always be securely in place while heating water. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE • The kettle should always be emptied before cleaning and storage. • It is extremely important to remember that cleaning of the kettle can only be performed when the plug has been removed from the power supply. • Cleaning should be performed only when the kettle has cooled down. • Always ensure the electrical connections of the kettle remain absolutely dry. • Ensure the outside and the electrical connections of the kettle are completely dry before using. • Wipe the kettle and base with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use cleaning products that can cause health hazard or discoloration of the kettle. • Do not use abrasive cleansers or scouring agents of any kind on the interior or exterior of the kettle. • Never immerse any part of the kettle, especially the cable and base, into water. To install filter and remove it for cleaning, follow instructions below: For cleaning the filter, please refer to the illustrations above at right, for assembling and disassembling: Filter Assembly Sequence Hang on filter holder. While filter is hanging, lift it up. Lift up the filter to click into place. Filter Disassembly Sequence Push down on filter as shown in number 1. Remove filter, as shown in number 2. 5
