Figure 120: Performance Monitor screen 2. Select the ports and then click the Errors Ratio button from the toolbar. The graph displays a list of different types of error packets. 3. Set the Port Packet options. These values are calculated tracking the number of packets received over a period of time. • Drop Events: Represents the total number of events, when packets are dropped due to lack of resources. • CRCAlignErrors: Represents the total number of packets received that are between 64 and 1518 octets in length. These include packets of either a bad Frame Check Sequence (FCS) with an integral number of octets (FCS Error) or a bad FCS with a non-integral number of octets (Alignment Error). • UndersizePkts: Represents the total number of packets received that are less than 64 octets in length. • OversizePkts: Represents the total number of packets received that are longer than 1518 octets in length. • Segments: Represents the total number of packets received that are less than 64 octets in length. These include packets of either a bad Frame Check Sequence (FCS) with an integral number of octets (FCS Error) or a bad FCS with a non-integral number of octets (Alignment Error). • Jabbers: The total number of packets received that are longer than 1518 octets in length. These include packets of either a bad Frame Check Sequence (FCS) with an integral number of octets (FCS Error) or a bad FCS with a non-integral number of octets (Alignment Error). • Collisions: An estimate of the total number of collisions on this Ethernet segment. 4. Click Clear[C] to clear the current data on the screen.
