-appliance_id Identifier of the appliance on which the volume is provisioned. -volume_group_id Volume group to add the volume to. If not specified, the volume is not added to a volume group. -min_size Optional minimum size for the volume, in bytes. -sector_size Optional sector size, in bytes. Only 512-byte and 4096-byte sectors are supported. -protection_policy_id Unique identifier of the protection policy assigned to the volume. -performance_policy_id Unique identifier of the performance policy assigned to the volume. -async Perform asynchronous operation. delete Delete a volume. • A volume which is attached to a host or host group or is a member of a volume group cannot be deleted. • A volume which has protection policies attached to it cannot be deleted. • A volume which has snapshots that are part of a snapset cannot be deleted. • Clones of a deleted production volume or a clone are not deleted. • Snapshots of the volume are deleted along with the volume being deleted. Format volume {-id | -name } delete [-async] Action qualifiers -id Unique identifier of the volume to delete. -name Unique name of the existing object (volume). -async Perform asynchronous operation. 438
