If either the system board or the heat sink is replaced, use the thermal pad provided in the kit to ensure that thermal conductivity is achieved. 1 Follow the instructions in "Before You Begin" on page 7. 2 Clean the thermal grease from the bottom of the heat sink and reapply it. 3 Align the screw holes on the heat sink with the screw holes on the system board. 4 In sequential order (indicated on the heat sink), replace the six screws that secure the heat sink to the system board. 5 Connect the fan cable to the system-board connector. 6 Adhere the display cable tape to the heat sink. 42 Heat Sink and Fan

Replacing the Heat Sink and Fan
NOTE:
The original thermal grease can be reused if the original system board and
heat sink are reinstalled together. If either the system board or the heat sink is
replaced, use the thermal pad provided in the kit to ensure that thermal conductivity
is achieved.

Follow the instructions in "Before You Begin" on page 7.

Clean the thermal grease from the bottom of the heat sink and reapply it.

Align the screw holes on the heat sink with the screw holes on the system
board.

In sequential order (indicated on the heat sink), replace the six screws that
secure the heat sink to the system board.

Connect the fan cable to the system-board connector.

Adhere the display cable tape to the heat sink.
