ENGLISH (9) Slow Playback (for DVDs and video CDs only) 1 In the still mode, press one of the 6 / 7 buttons on the remote control unit. 6 : Reverse direction 7 : Forward direction • When pressed again, the slow play speed increases. FUNCTION FUNCTION Main unit Remote control unit • The function switches as shown below. • Factory default (LINE 1) = MD, (LINE 2) = TAPE DVD TUNER (LINE1) (LINE2) D.AUX 2 When DVD, D.AUX or (LINE1) = MD was selected as the input function, press the remote control unit's INPUT MODE button to select the input mode. INPUT MODE AUTO PCM Remote control unit DTS ANALOG • "ANALOG" cannot be selected when DVD or D.AUX was selected as the input function. • "ANALOG" can be selected when "LINE-2" is set to "D.AUX" at "FUNCTION ASSIGNMENT" under "SYSTEM SETUP" in the detailed settings. Input mode selection function • The input mode can be selected when the input function is set to DVD, D.AUX or (LINE1) = MD. • Different input modes can be selected for each input function. The selected input mode is stored in the memory for the individual input functions. • When the input function is set to something other than the above, "ANALOG ONLY" is displayed and the input mode cannot be selected. q AUTO (auto mode) In this mode, the type of signal being input to the digital and analog input terminals is detected and the program in the set's surround decoder is switched automatically to play the signals for the selected input function. The presence or absence of digital signals is detected, the signals input to the digital input are identified and decoding and playback are performed automatically in DTS, Dolby Digital or PCM (2 channel stereo) format. If no digital signal (LINE1) = MD is being input, the analog input jacks are selected. Use this mode to play Dolby Digital signals. w PCM (exclusive PCM signal playback mode) Decoding and playback are only performed when PCM signals are being input. e DTS (exclusive DTS signal playback mode) Decoding and playback are only performed when DTS signals are being input. r ANALOG (exclusive analog audio signal playback mode) The signals input to the analog input jacks are played. (This cannot be selected in the DVD mode.) The input mode automatically switches to "AUTO" if you switch the input function to DVD from anything other than DVD. 44
